A car crash is a difficult experience; you may even think nothing can be worse than that. Once you know the other driver does not have car insurance, you may get traumatized all over again. According to a new bill in Arizona, drivers’ callous attitude towards automobile insurance will under go a radical shift. In the current economic scenario, the temptation to allow your car insurance to lapse is very strong. But with new law in effect, giving in to this temptation, would not be a wise decision after all.
It is also known as the “no insurance” law, and became effective on Oct. 1st. According to earlier law, if a driver was caught without car insurance, he was allowed to buy car insurance before court date, and the fine could be reduced or even waived. Such a possibility does not exist under the new law.
First time violators would be fined $500 and their driver’s license and vehicle registration would be suspended for three months. Second time offenders will have to pay $750 as fine and their driver’s license and vehicle registration would be suspended for six months.
If the offenders violate the law third time in 36 months, the driver will have to pay the minimum fine of $1000 and their documents would remain suspended for one year. Many insurance companies have introduced basic car insurance policies with low premiums, and law makers believe those who have not insured themselves so far, will do so soon. It’s time you got Arizona Car Insurance Quote for yourself.
